An Interview with a Goddess
Amy Indira Ramdass Amy is an
intoxicating beauty. She is outspoken, passionate and a profoundly gifted
writer. She is the personification of goddess. She is utterly joyful, playful,
sensual and wise. Her positive attitude and bright spirit are beacons in a dark
world. She possesses a grace and inner beauty that is tangible and empowering to
all who would spend a moment in her presence. She exudes the energy of
sisterhood, and with an open heart she welcomes you into her circle of love. I
adore her honesty; her brave soul which allows her to delve into the very core
of life and share the essence of what is meaningful, kind and true. Her smile is
absolutely gorgeous, and upon seeing it, it's impossible not to smile in return.
Amy is a woman that I am honored to call sistar and friend. I know you will be
delighted and inspired by this interview with a goddess.5 Questions I ask of the Goddess in
You:
1. How do you nurture & nourish your self so that you
may embody the goddess?Mmm, I need to know too, so thanks for this
dreamy, delightfulness of a question, it’s time I quest for the answer, explore
how I’m able to embody the goddess.
Hmm, you think it’s because I’m
sleeping with bliss itself? Ha Ha. Okay, that’s just a portion of it, the rest
of the nourishing and nurturing of me is earned by working at a full-time job,
keeping my home in a tranquil state, and maintaining balance by being
considerate, loving unconditionally-ally while silently applauding all around
me for managing to keep their heads above the drowning waves of life. I find I’m
better equipped to n&n me when my world is in harmony with me.
Aftersome “me-time” has accumulated,
it’s time to head to the gym for some physical exercisewhich also helps to
embolden and empower the goddess within me to walk thetalk, to ride the crest
of the goddess wave and never fall off! Say,have you ever had one of those
oneness-with-the-world-moments where you wishedthe whole world was watching
you? Well, when I am in the nurturing andnourishing of mind, body, spirits
mode, is the exact time I’d love to be onsome reality TV show. Can you
imaginethe scene? Mmm. Exactly. The goddess in me simply loves to worship her
entire being from the top of her divalicious head to her root chakra (giggles)
and all the way down to the tips of her soul ... er ... sole. Oh,
riiight, if there are drums around, this would be the time to start
rolling, and right, same to all you hidden cameras, keep rolling on me house
cleaning, folding laundry, having sleeping moments, waking ones, stretching,
yawning, writing, listening to music, dancing, eating healthy foods, reading,
curling up on the couch to watch movies, relaxing in a tub of warm water,
meditating, reflecting, drinking in the the sounds of falling water, and gazing
outside at the rain.
You see? Those are all N&N moments. My entire
home is my spa which keeps me in the perfect shape of marvel, wonder and
playfulness. Come to think of it, the sun-deck and garden are extension of this
awesome spa of mine. And you know what else? It comes with singing birds,
sparkling stars and pure sunbeams. In winter days, if they are none around to
chirp their sweet little heads off, the little warblers are inside my head. And
as for the sparkling stars and shining sunbeams, why, they are wide awake inside
me to add sparkle to the dreariest winter moments... Most of what I do outside
of my home is considered spa moments too, yes even at work, my legs curled up in
my chair and sipping immortality tea while I work the hours away. It’s just
as awesome when I’m shopping. Mmm, the goddess in me loves shopping; in fact,
she thinks it’s some kind of secret therapy so it’s great she is reluctant to
venture out of her sanctuary or I’d be financially bankrupt. However, whatever
it takes to keep her dwelling in this space, her very own temple; I’m woman for
the job, to embody, nurture and nourish the goddess within me so she can
continue to fill her world with empathy, compassionate, unconditional love and
wonder.
2. What inspires you and expands your
awareness? This entire world, the one outside of me, mmm,
hugely inspiring and stimulating! The innocence and wonder of children, the
inner strength and nurturing nature of women, the awesome creative force in men,
a funny phrase, the truth of a quote, the fragrance of flowers, the enchantment
of stories, the tranquility of a pond, the magic of words, the shape of leaves,
the warm delight of playful breeze, the stillness of dusk, the magnetic pull of
stars, the morning dew on flower petals, the soft feel of grass, the chirp of
birds, the healing of sunshine, the sheer beauty of nature, the cozy warmth of
winter, the power of love, the deliciousness of dreams, and yep, this world of
mine definitely conspires to inspires little ol’ me. Hey! Me too, I inspire me!
Mmm. I love me, love meditating on me, love being me, and going deep down into
my own nature...to study me, me, me.
Recently, my Facebook friends
have been inspiring me at every turn, including you, Leesa. Take Wendy for
instance, the moment I mentioned the spelling of how my birth country used to be
Guiana but it eventually morphed into G.u.y.a.n.a, she pointed out that Guiana
was probably more Gaia, matriarchal, and as patriarchal influence took stronger
roots, Guiana become more ..uh...Guy-ana. And that inspired me to look into it,
and I re-discovered the name Guiana came from the natives of Guyana, an
Amerindian word which means, “Land of many waters.” And according to Sitchin,
and the Babylonian Creation epic, the Enuma Elish, Tiamat, the original
earth/gaia was also known as the watery planet....and that not only made me go,
wow, but it also inspired me to be on the lookout for significance and symbolism
in every ancient act. LOL. You see where I plan to sail with all of this? Yes,
to a whole new fictional tall tale. Ha ha!
3. Please share what poem, quote, song, or book both
breaks & opens your heart?Poem: Thunder, Perfect
Mind, a Gnostic poem that confirms our-very-difficult-to
accept-contradictory nature.
“I am the first and the
last. I am the honoured one
and the scorned one I am the whore, and the
holy one I am the wife and the
virgin I am the mother and the
daughter I am she whose wedding
is great, and I have not taken a husband I am knowledge, and
ignorance I am shameless; I am
ashamed I am strength, and I am
fear I am foolish, and I am
wise I am godless, and I am
one whose God is great.” Quote: “Every morning
in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it
will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run
faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether
you’re a lion or gazelle - when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”
Well, it’s not the quote that breaks my heart so much as the picture it
dredges up, a 1994 Pulitzer Prize winning photo by Kevin Carter. It’s an image
of a famished child crawling towards a feeding camp and a starving vulture
moving in slowly on her.
Song: U2 “Sometimes you can’t make it
on your own.”
I have a sneaky feeling this song was created by the
universe just for me. I mean, why does it make me cry all the time? And yes, I’m
crying now as I write, crying for all of us who have to go it alone, crying for
all those who I love, especially my mother. By just being her natural self, she
inspired me to transcend whatever is it that keeps me from supporting my fellow
women, made me see that we are our own enemies. Book: Chicken
soup for the soul.
It is pure inspiration for the spirits, and truth
be told, the first serving broke opened my heart and allowed my compassionate
nature to shine true. 4. What truth do you live by
that brings you back to your center, your place of balance?A
quote:
“The seed of all things exist in you as in me” not only
helps to keep my double standards in check but it also renders me incapable of
prejudging others. By being kind to others, I am being kind to me. Here is
another quote, The Essence of Compassion which also helps me keep the
balance: - "Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged,
sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong… because
sometime in your life you will have been all of these." 5. What are you creating now
that may inspire your sistars? I am working on a new novel, a book of
inspirational short stories, and video poems...
Please share a personal blessing for my readers as
closing to this interview. May the sacred feminine continue to shine
bright... May we support and bless each other with healing light... To
nurture and nourish all in our world Nature and man, and every boy and
girl...

An Interview with a Goddess
Fran at
age 16. FranBeth Pilgreen As if described in a fairy tale, Fran has long
rivers of flowing hair, intense, soulful eyes the shade of a forest glen and an
air about her that is reminiscent of a summer meadow. Something about her
essence is delicate and fae, and yet, she is perhaps the bravest woman I know.
She lives her life of adventure with grace and a flair for subtle
beauty that opens the space for others to linger often. Her travels have taught
her well, expanded her soul vision and polished this gem of a woman until she
shines! With a gentle, playful spirit, Fran reminds me that even heart break can
be experienced with a passion for life, an expectancy of wonder, and an honest
integrity which not only allows you to grow, but to blossom as if you've only
ever been showered with love. It is my hope that you are blessed by
this interview with a goddess.
5 Questions I ask of the Goddess in You:
1. How do
you nurture & nourish your self so that you may embody the goddess?
With a Rainbow Diet: I am at my happiest when there are
rainbows in my life. I thrive on color in my visual field and in my personal
consumption and nourishment. I have recently discovered a personal favorite,
roasted produce; sweet potato, eggplant, butternut squash, garlic,
red-yellow-orange bell peppers, carrots, minimal white carbs and dairy. I prefer
a raw diet wherever possible, minimal use of animal protein. No red meat. A
cornucopia of fruits, seeds, nuts, quinoa. Use of natural sweeteners honey or
agave syrup. Naturally sun dried fruits whenever possible. Herbal teas, green,
black and white teas, (Ceylon is my favorite) natural juices, Ginger tonics. The
use of organic garden made skin care products made with love from Sanandra of
Sea Chi.. Flower essences by Jane Marrow Innman. Frequent dead sea salt baths
for ultimate relaxation and spiritual enlightenment. Bathing in green and white
tea for healing properties to skin and rejuvenation of my goddess hair. Use of
natural sea water as a healing aid.. Member of Massage Envy where I treat myself
to a monthly massage. Walking around the lake at sunrise. Experiencing natural
elements when they stand before me in all their glory. Forgiving myself for
losing my soulmate in life. Allowing self-healing to take its course so that I
am able to rebirth the essence that is me, so that I have the strength to plant
a completely new organically divine garden, even more fruitful than my
last.
2. What
inspires you and expands your awareness? Nature. Whispering Wind. Touch.
Sound. Connecting with spirit, guardian angels, and spirit guides,
while living in gratitude for the warmth and guidance I am shown daily. Having
gracious acceptance of the shortcomings of mankind, and forgiving of trespasses,
including my own. Allowing myself to be a conduit for information but not a
vessel. Giving of myself completely to those souls that cross my physical path.
Feeling a deep sense of connection to universal consciousness. Inspired by other
goddesses and spiritual gurus. Nature is my ultimate source of inspiration.
Recently inspired by the Agape Center, Marianne Williamson, my soul sistars, my
healing friends, and the endless flow of serendipity in my life. Acceptance and
strengthening the reality of living an independent life in the absence of my
twin flame and eternal soulmate. Being kissed by the suns warm energy. Daily
inspiration from the internet information highway. Spiritual Cinema Circle
movies- which fill my heart with joy every month. Reading or listening to
transformational self help topics. Listening to the rhythmic sounds of the waves
and sea life as I close my eyes and embrace my soul's sense of just
listening-being.

3. Please
share what poem, quote, song, or book both breaks & opens your heart?
Book:
Clan of the Cave Bear Series by Jean M.
Auel The
book that has broken and open my heart is Jean M Auel's 'Clan of the Cave Bear',
as I identify personally with the main character Ayla as she goes through and
overcomes great personal loss, is taken in and then outcast, and then is able
through being true to her spirit, universal awareness and connection, to be able
to: Not
only persevere but to have great triumph. Poem:
by my Soul-Sister Tina Marks 'Mirror
in the Snow' (c 2005) resonates deep within my soul. My
dear soul-sister shared it with me years ago, and it immediately resonated like
a self-reflection. It filled my spirit on such a deep level that it remains home
in my heart.
Mirror
in the snow The
gift of inspiration for this imagery was received on a dark, cold, snowy
February morning. Preoccupied with the typical morning routine and haste, I
vaguely noticed something in the snow-covered grass and paused to get a closer
look. To my surprise, I found a single, tiny flower bud peering out from beneath
the white blanket. I stopped…and sat down on the step, instinctively responding
to my discovery and to the present moment…. In
the prelude to dawn, all was still and quiet on the Earth. The air was crisp and
gentle. And there…. behind the mist of my own breath, the subtle silhouette of
my little flower, standing ever-so-strong and uninhibited in the moonlight. I
focused quite intently on capturing every detail of those few moments….It seemed
as though time briefly stood still...and throughout all the ensuing activities
of that day, my thoughts repeatedly returned to my little flower…
Take
a moment to imagine that you are the tiny flower bud. Silent
and still in the darkness of early morning.
As
dawn approaches and awakening begins, inhale and reach deep into the Earth,
drawing nourishment in through your feet….your roots…and allowing this food to
satisfy and slowly arouse every cell of the body, flowing throughout…. all the
way to the tips of each shiny green, newborn leaf…. Say
to yourself….I will never hunger. There
is enough food. Feel
the pure, white snowflakes gently descend upon you and surround you. Fresh,
clean, water droplets softly coming to rest….trickling over your leaves, your
physical body…. Take
a drink…. absorb…..allow the fresh liquid to gently seep through your veins and
downward through your roots….visualize the gradual flow….slowly saturating the
body and then at last sinking to its resting place, deep within the Earth
below. Say
to yourself…I will never thirst. There
is enough water. As
the sun arises and greets the new day, picture its glowing presence, naturally
suspended above the Earth. Imagine your head rising and tilting back slightly,
fully experiencing and enjoying the warmth enveloping your entire being. Your
leaves begin to open, reaching toward the sky, eager to receive the prana
awaiting you….the vital nutrients necessary to grow and thrive. Say
to yourself…..I will not be depleted. There
is enough sunlight and energy.
Nightfall
beckons….the winds begin to swirl…the night sky dimly illuminated with millions
of stars, each of its own unique size and intensity. No two the same. Consider
the vastness of the galaxies and heavens. There is no beginning….and no end. You
are the tiny flower, firmly centered and grounded in the Earth. Visualize the
space surrounding you…your aura… protecting and exuding the life force within.
The wind sporadically encircles you. Your leaves uniting with the air….flowing
freely, bending and swaying with grace and ease…..at times softly sweeping the
Earth with your fingertips. As tranquility evolves, you gently lower your
head…leaves caressing and folding over you, providing warmth and shelter. You
are the tiny flower….free…at peace…resting… Say
to yourself….I am one with the heavens and the Earth. There
is enough air and space.
With
each new day, you rise, with renewed strength….patiently awaiting the
anticipated time and season….keenly aware and accepting of the cycle of
life….confident in your purpose…willing and eager to adorn the world with your
inner beauty….to share your bloom…..to celebrate new life…. Say
to yourself….I am the tiny flower. What
color might you be?

truth do you live by that brings you back to your center, your place of
balance? "Less is more." I have discovered that personal chaos in
the form of clutter and procrastination have been historically and consistently
the items that have created great havoc in my life, including even the demise of
my 25 year marriage. I am truly a living dust devil, in the sense that I have a
life force that stirs things up a bit when I drive my focus in a particular
direction, picking up and adding to the chaos as I will have typically arrived
at a location to find an item previously lost in the shuffle. I have done a
substantial amount of soul healing and clearing recently. From Conscious
Uncoupling coaching sessions to registering for a clutterology course. My life
has been turned upside DOWN and insideOUT. I have discovered that the secret to
having ULTIMATE BALANCE in LIFE is by first and foremost taking care of
yourself. Breathing passion into every aspect of your being. By so doing this,
you are HERE NOW! And in that place in time, you will experience the ultimate
balance, your ULTIMATE CENTER. 5. What are
you creating now that may inspire your sistars? I
am writing a book 365 Dates a Year. About how I am rekindling my free
spiritedness, fun and love again. In the book I will share my personal journey,
experience and guidance on fulfilling our internal desires. Through personal
soul connections with like minded beings, and how to reel them
in. I am also dreaming into existence a self-powering
architectural world where we can live in harmony with the earth by using fewer
non-renewable natural resources. With my eye on designing vacation resorts and
Eco Villages. I started an architectural grad prep class last night, and am
applying to the New School of Architecture San Diego Masters program with
emphasis in sustainability. Please
share a personal blessing for my readers as closing to this
interview.Heavenly mother and father, thank you for the wonderful
gifts in our lives with your presence. Thank you for leading us on a stepping
stone path of discovery, learning, and enlightenment. Each stepping stone
reveals a worthy lesson. With a completely open mind, each step can be
accomplished with grace-joy-fulfillment. I feel truly blessed we have these
stones to step on, and I welcome you to join me and FEEL the love and warmth of
god/desses hand in our own, as we walk through the valley of light, love,
and peace. And so it is, Amen. Bio: Fran

An Interview with a
Goddess:
Marial DreamwalkerMari is my dear sister of the Red Rose. She is a
beautiful kindred spirit whose soul sings the truth of love. She is a profoundly wise woman,
psychic and empath. Her voice is naked in its expression of the depth of being,
the honesty of both pain and joy. She writes music and
lyrics and she sings with
purity and grace. I imagine her on stage amid soft lights, the darkened room
silenced by her presence ...spellbound by the vision of her wearing the
slinkiest of red dresses. She
is also a very talented artist. She paints canvas with vibrant colours and
evocative imagery. Her
courage is great. Her message is soulful. I am honored to offer this interview
with a goddess. 5
Questions I ask of the Goddess in You:
1. How do you nurture &
nourish your self so that you may embody the goddess?
I spend a lot
of time in prayer, while walking and I do a lot of magical and healing work at
my altar. Also, singing; I sing all the time. I sing while walking, I sing to
the cows and horses in the neighborhood and to anyone else who will listen.
Singing brings me pure joy and moves me into an ecstatic space. The most
self-nourishing thing I do for myself is to give Reiki attunements
to others. I witness how
the energy alters and aligns them with a deeper awareness of Divinity; it makes
them feel how sacred they are and this is very rewarding for me. Reiki is an
essential part of my spiritual life path. It is a powerful reciprocal way of
being in the world. I am very passionate about sharing it with others. Someone
will ask me about Reiki and instead of trying to explain it, I just give them an
attunement so they can experience it for themselves. They are always amazed at
how sacred an experience it is. I am always talking about Reiki with people I
meet and if they sit still long enough, they will get an attunement from me.
2. What inspires you and
expands your awareness? Youth inspire me. I have worked with at-risk youth
since 2003. I have learned so much from them. They are survivors, because they
are strong, but more so, because they are resilient and continue to love when
oftentimes, they have not been shown love. The world is a much more complicated
place now, and sometimes it can seem so dark for youth. They do not feel
understood, or loved much of the time. It was a privilege to sit with them, to
teach them, to share their heartaches and to learn from them. I still have
several students I am in touch with. They are amazing beings. They are the last
of the Indigo Children. They are here to teach us how to face our pain and heal
it. I love them! My song, “The Cut” is inspired by my experience with wonderful
young people. The “cut” speaks to the place inside all of us where we ‘cut’
ourselves; injure ourselves. It is often a secret and shameful. The song wants
to bring this to the light and remind us that we are divine
beings. 3. Please share what poem,
quote, song, or book both breaks & opens your heart? Beloved, by Toni Morrison is my absolute
favorite book on the planet. It is so deep and speaks to me on so many levels.
The character Beloved is a ghost who was killed as an infant by her mother to
save her from slavery. This is a terrible sacrifice for someone to have to make.
Yet, on another level, it is a lesson of our shadow selves. It speaks to the
dark places inside of us that needs to be loved; the part of us that is violent
or self-destructive, or that allows ourselves to be abused by others. This book
has been a great teacher for me. We must end the violence within our minds, our
hearts and against our bodies. This book moves me to be gentle with myself and
to watch how I treat myself and others.
4. What truth do you live by
that brings you back to your center, your place of balance?
We are all
Spirit Beings. We are made of light. We are Divine. We have chosen this earth
experience to learn to be fully human, which is a beautiful thing. Some people
are not aware of this, or have forgotten this truth. This awareness keeps me in
compassion, which keeps me in balance. I pray and meditate on peace and ending
violence in the world. This is my goal. To continue to heal this in myself and
to help others heal violence within themselves. I believe, as my Native American
culture teaches that no one is truly free, until all being are free. We are One
and we live as a unified beingness together. The idea that we are separate is an
illusion, which creates a sense of isolation and fear, which causes us to hurt
one another. I think Jennifer Berizen’s video*, “In These Arms” is a beautiful
illustration of the power of gentleness, compassion and love. 5. What are you creating now
that may inspire your sistars?
I just
completed my first EP, which is a CD of six songs. The title is Light
and Roses. It is a dream come true for me to complete this project. I
have been working on it in one way or another for the last 15 years. The timing
was not right, or the people I was working with didn’t work out, or didn't share
my vision. The Goddess opened a door to help me find an amazing producer who was
able to really listen to my vision and help me create my music. The songs are
all related to various Goddesses and speak of different experiences I have had
with them. The single, I just released is, “Bless Me.” It speaks of a time when
I felt alone and I called out to Her for help, for love. There is another song
called Raven Woman. Raven Woman is a powerful presence who has protected me
throughout my life. Please share a personal
blessing for my readers as closing to this interview.
May you walk
gently, with peace through your sacred interior, within the grace of light and shadow.
May you see the beauty of
your soul in the eyes of all you meet. May your heart be opened by the fire of the
sun, and may you love fiercely.Bio:Mari Dreamwalker is a
fourth generation priestess in her Mexican Native-American tradition. She is a
Reiki Master Teacher and holds a Masters of Arts in Women’s Spirituality. She
has been teaching spiritual development and Reiki for over 20 years. She is a
painter, writer and a singer/songwriter. She loves walking along rivers and

An Interview with a Goddess:
Lisbeth Cheever-Gessaman The Enchantress. She is my kindred spirit, harem sistar, and deliciously intoxicating muse. Her profound wisdom, charm, and grace imbue all that she is and does. Poetry and prose: she speaks a language of fae, romance and sage... a'twirl with the mystery and truth of winter, which not only delights but utterly enriches the listener. She plants seeds in ones psyche which grow and blossom in the most endearing and unexpected ways. I've witnessed the Goddess whispering into those flaming curls causing the winds of change to encourage the source within all women to awaken, to become inspired, to dance. She weaves a gypsy path, leaving crystal omens for all who would follow. I am pleased to offer this interview with a goddess.
5 Questions I ask of the Goddess in You:
1. How do you nurture & nourish your self so that you may embody the goddess? My first thought is to tell you by following the principles of truth, and maintaining a steadfast faith that wherever I am is always in direct alignment with the Divine, and knowing that I am a part of that sacred plan. Which is true, but mostly in retrospect and trials of fire. So conversely, when I have a need to nurture I might find a bottle of good wine, some honeycomb and swaddle myself in velvet with a book. Really though in that, it's the texture of the grape, the golden light and sticky sweet of the honeycomb and the womb-like depth of the feel of the cloth. It's crawling into someone elses mind through ink on a page. Scratch all that - love and passion not at the exclusion of truth is closer. Also not being afraid to have a good cry now and again. Wandering the
halls of my harem. And being most righteously and decently fucked.
Can I say that?
2. What inspires you and expands your awareness? Believing that inspiration is more of a muse than a process, and that things that inspire change are often fickle, depending on the day/mood/season/ moon. It's interesting that you coupled it with awareness, because you can't have one without the other, and when you have one, the other is usually present or languid somewhere in shadows. Inspiration is a tangible presence whereas awareness is its vehicle in that sense. If you take the world around you for granted, then the things that used to inspire fall flat and you'll feel as if you're peering out into the world through a bell jar. Open your eyes beyond the parameter of the seen. Expect to be delighted and amazed and you will be. Practice the alchemy of presence. From a more earthbound perspective: I love discoveries. The last thing that
inspired me was finding David Foster Wallace's word list, which opened the door to a host of unseen things. And always the ocean who is a mother of tangible form.
3. Please share what poem, quote, song, or book both breaks & opens your heart?
But in the midst of these very unfamiliar conditions your inner solitude will be a support and a home to you. It will be the starting point of all your journeys. Rilke
4. What truth do you live by that brings you back to your center,
your place of balance? Love. When I step outside of the awareness of it, I am almost instantly lost, and when I am resolutely conscious within it, there isn't a place I can go where it is not deeper still.
5. What are you creating now that may inspire your sistars? Myself.
Please share a personal blessing for my readers as closing to this interview. "O Birther! Father- Mother of the Cosmos Focus your light within us - make it useful. Create your reign of unity now- through our fiery hearts and willing hands Help us love beyond our ideals and sprout acts of compassion for all creatures. Animate the earth within us: we then feel the Wisdom underneath supporting all. Untangle the knots within so that we can mend our hearts' simple ties to each other. Don't let surface things delude us, But free us from what holds us back from our true purpose. Out of you, the astonishing fire, Returning light and sound to the cosmos. Let it be so.
(Not mine, in fact, but the original "Lord's Prayer" in Aramaic, translated by Neil Douglas-Klotz, from "Prayers of the Cosmos".)

An Interview with a Goddess:
Patricia Maulding
Or , as she is affectionately known, 'Poppet' is a maiden soul. She is a rare combination of innocent and wise. Soft spoken and gentle mannered she embodies feminine charm. I admire her deep love of animals and nature, her uncanny ability to capture the most poetic moments with her camera, her brave spirit, and her generous heart. The goddess is seen in her alluring beauty, and though she doesn't share her secrets freely, there is magick behind her deep, soulful eyes, which speak profoundly. I hope you enjoy this interview with a goddess.
5 Questions I ask of the Goddess in You:
1. How do you nurture & nourish your self so that you may embody the goddess? Through reading, editing photography, drinking tea and talking with friends about new ventures.
2. What inspires you and expands your awareness? Magic. People who infuse their lives with the magical aspects of every day living. The extraordinary in the ordinary. No matter how bad your circumstances, you can always rise above by believing in the positive side of life.
3. Please share what poem, quote, song, or book both breaks & opens your heart? Emily Dickinson, "Part One: Life XIII". I love the absolute comfort in solitude that she had. T.S. Eliot, "Little Gidding". My mother gifted me with this poem before I went to Europe. There were lots of references in this poem that corresponded with my trip. I will spend the rest of my life trying to figure out the mysteries of this poem:
THESOUL, selects her own society, Then shuts the door; On her divine majority Obtrude no more.
Unmoved, she notes the chariot's pausing -----5 At her low gate; Unmoved, an emperor is kneeling Upon her mat.
I've known her from an ample nation Choose one; -----10 Then close the valves of her attention Like stone.
Others who've inspired me: Edgar Allen Poe, Stevie Nicks, Rumi, & G. Harvey.
4. What truth do you live by that brings you back to your center, your place of balance? Being in Nature. Nature is perfection with its imperfections. The hole in a leaf, the dirt on the stone, or the way a tree curves... all imperfection, making it real and beautiful. Whether in the forest, at the ocean or in the mountains, I gain my center from Nature. My cats purring centers me as well.
5. What are you creating now that may inspire your sistars? Every day, I attempt to create a better version of myself, and I try to encourage that in others. Also, Greeting cards. I love designing them. I am proud of the fact that I can design something from nothing. Prints can be really expensive, but the image on a greeting card is much more attainable. My photography - being able to capture a moment in time is precious, as it will never happen in that same instance ever again.
Please share a personal blessing for my readers as closing to this interview. "Blessings must arise from within your own mind. It is not something that comes from outside. When the positive qualities of your own mind increase and the negativities decrease, that is what blessing means. The Tibetan word for blessings means transforming into magnificent potential. Therefore, blessing refers to the development of virtuous qualities you did not previously have and the improvement of those good qualities you have already developed. It also means decreasing the defilement's of the mind that obstruct the generation of wholesome qualities. So actual blessing is received when the minds virtuous attributes gain strength and its defective characteristics weaken or deteriorate." Dalai Lama XIV Patricia Mauldings Bio: Patricia (Poppet) is an artist and photographer living in an Illinois enchanted forest. She surrounds herself with books, crystals, cats and candles. She carries a Chrysocolla gemstone around with her at all times. www.poppetography.comwww.facebook.com/poppetography Patricia Maulding - featured goddess issue # 2 November 2011 Goddess of the Gypsy Moon Newsletter
