Self LOVE Altar

Self Love Altarcreated in cyber space by the Priestess Leesa

LOVE Altar For the goddess in you.

The altar I've created is to invoke self love.
To dedicate ourselves to our authentic self which is our essence.

Guidelines for creating your own Love Altar:

East -
Flames from many candles to illuminate your path.
Flames from red candles to spark a passion for for life, and a deep love of self.
Fire representing Divine inspiration. Fire blessings you with energy.and vitality.
South -
Roses fragrant and in full bloom. Red roses just for you.
A love letter from your authentic self so you may accept and respect your self just as you are.
A symbol to represent your open heart and willingness to be adored.
West -
Pomegranates full and ripe representing the sacred seeds within you.
Abundant red fruit that you may taste the sweetness of life, that you may enjoy health.
The Goddess with arms uplifted in gratitude for many blessings.
North -
Rare red butterfly representing connection to the earth mother, your sistars, to sacred blood.
Books represent an adventurous spirit,  being open to change, to infinite possibilities.
A symbol of wisdom, being receptive to the spirit of creativity and to the Divine.
Center -
Golden bowl to hold your deepest dreams and wishes.
Bowls represent your ability to hold and share energies.
Golden bowl, sacred chalice: drink and be purified, be cleansed of fear, of doubt, of worry.

Ritual:  Self Love

Stand before your consecrated altar, the one you just created.

Stare into the flickering flames and imagine this holy fire igniting your passion, your motivation, your will to act in ways that support your dreams and goals. Visualize what you wish to manifest. See your spirit shine bright.

Gather a rose in you hand and bring it to your face. Breathe deeply of its fragrance. Brush its tender petals across your lips and feel the softness of love. Listen to your heart beat, and acknowledge your beauty, your value and your expression in this life. In this way, be gentle with your emotions. Open and feel utterly adored.

Take a bite of fruit, allow its juices to delight you. Welcome the sweetness into your being. Embrace the energies given for sustenance and health. Ask the Goddess within you to reveal Herself. Feel Her power.

Follow the example of the butterfly and allow your transformation to begin. Speak the truth and wisdom your higher self, your authentic self, your own unique expression; the Divine wants for you to believe in your truth.. Affirm you are love. Affirm you are beautiful. Affirm you are wise. Affirm you are whole. Keep your thoughts positive.

Pour wine or water into the bowl/chalice and drink deeply. With gratitude and self respect give thanks for being you! Give thanks for your life, your ability to choose, and your sacred journey. Breathe in Love. Be.

Wrap your arms about your body and embrace the wonder of you.
Know that love is your birthright. Dance.

MIRROR RITUAL

The Mirror by Sir Frank Dicksee

A ritual is a set of actions performed mainly for their symbolic value.

The mirror is the ritual tool we'll be using this month, as we practice nine ways of looking within and reflecting our inner beauty:

  1. In a quiet, solitary place, look in the mirror. Silently peer into the depth of your soulful eyes.   With an open heart, mind and awareness, see who you really are. Smile.
  2. Look into the mirror and say aloud "I love you." It isn't always easy, but it is the beginning of loving yourself for who you really are. Altering the words (and tone) we use toward ourselves to be uplifting, true, and kind is vital for creating a positive self image and deep sense of inner beauty. It's this reflection we then show to others.
  3. Be gentle with your self. Withhold judgement. Adorn your self,  but don't allow your self to believe that your value is in adornments. See your naked beauty as more than enough. Use the mirror as a magick looking glass - envision yourself healthy, vibrant, and shining from within.
  4. When you look into the mirror during your daily routine, focus on your beauty, instead of your perceived flaws.Take time to make choices that are in alignment and in harmony with the divine expression of true beauty. Love, kindness, patience, forgiveness and understanding are truest signs  of beauty.
  5. Stand before a full length mirror. Close your eyes a moment.  Feel the presence of a Queen enter into your body and mind. Open your eyes when you believe you'll see Her in your  face and body.  Conducting yourself as befitting a goddess enables you to better embodying the goddess.  Your integrity, confidence and uniqueness are the bright and shiny glow of true inner beauty.
  6. Mirrors are every where. In the face of another,  in a puddle or a lake, in the eyes of your lover, or the window shop as we walk by... Use these ever changing mirrors as opportunities to glow. Smile at your self. Smile at others. Smiles radiate positive energy. Remember, a smile can uplift even a tired face.
  7. We also are mirrors. We can forget that anothers wishes, rules, or expectations can taint the way we see our life, our self and our world. Live your passions. Be enthusiastic about your life. Your most beautiful when you're happy in your daily walk. Walking the path of beauty  requires courage, honesty and the willingness to follow your true hearts desire. Be true to yourself, and others will be inspired, and more open to the vast possibilites.
  8. Our experiences, perception, and beliefs are also mirrors - mirrors that teach lessons. Listen. Listen to your own inner wisdom. Take care of your needs in a timely fashion. Make sacred every act you perform. Find something positive in every lesson, circumstance and gift.
  9. And when you are ready, break the mirror without fear of bad luck, or other superstitions. Be the butterfly. Change. Transform. Allow your inner beauty to show for all the world to see. Do not hide behind fear, but instead shine bright. You are beautiful, inside and out!
